Keba Leaves Fox 25

Keba Arnold announced that she has not resigned with FOX 25. Arnold, who joined the station as a reporter in 2007, says “I have decided not to re-sign with FOX25. It was a difficult decision, however in the end it came down to wanting to live near the people I love the most. I am so grateful for my time at FOX25, what an amazing experience! I will truly miss those who made me smile everyday, and kept me on my toes.”
Keba came to Boston from California, and it appears she will be heading back that way next month.

WFXT has been shrinking and automating. It will be interesting to see whether the station fills the vacant position.

Sorry to see Keba leave – running out of reasons to watch Fox 25 in the a.m. Just not the same without Doug Meehan.

sorry to be the bad guy here But i could’not Stand”Dougie” to me he thought way to much of himself and he dressed very “sloppy” he seemed very arrogant

It will be sad to see Keba go. She is a really good fit with the team. Hopefully they get someone in as good to replace her. Cindy is already doing the weather and traffic, not sure she could do reporting too!

I agree with Tom. Dougie became utterly ‘cartoonish.’ His mannerisms, his dress, his utterances were all so sophomoric. Maybe that’s par for the course in the land of local TV news these days, which may explain why viewership is way down. More pragmatically, though, the role of someone who flies around in a helicopter describing to viewers what he saw out the window became a sign of ‘excess’ in an industry that just can’t afford any.

I am sorry to hear that Keba will be leaving FOX. I enjoyed watching her reporting. I also miss Doug in the mornings. I wish them both success in their future endevours!

Keba was always pleasant enough but never really fit with the morning crew. They always teased her and treated her like a younger sister — not an equal like Q. Good Luck to her.
Maybe Doug can get her job!

Not that I know of; he didn’t know when his final day would be when I spoke to him, and he sounded optimistic about the future.

I used to love waking up in the morning to see what terrible place they put Keeba in that day. and if Cindy was pregnant.
VB should go. his entire shtick is to read the globe and take the opposite stance. he’s completely unemployable outside Fox 25.

I’m bumming Keba is leaving. I think she does a great job. I don’t miss Q though. Doug was great when he was in the helicopter but once that was taken away it was the same. Paying a guy to report the traffic dressed in jeans just didn’t seem right. As long as Sarah Underwood stays around I’ll be a happy man.

Keba’s last morning is tomorrow and will be on the 6 p.m. news for a few nights next week. Doug is gone and looked fine and the show isn’t very good without him.

First Doug Meehan and now Keba? And yet Kim Carrigan is there every morning stumbling through her lines, mumbling, flubbing words. She can’t make it through one segment without inserting ” or um… or rather…um) Does any of the Fox hierarchy catch the morning news or do they all get up after 9am?

Why does Fox continue to rid themselves of such great people.
I hate to differ w. the Doug “haters”. Yes he was a little more relaxed than most but I think that was his niche and quite honestly he was a nice addition to my coffee in the morning. Keeba was a breath of fresh air so i am definitely sad to see her go.
I find that I’d be a lot less sad if they were to get rid of a couple others. (vb *cough, cough*)…his cynical ways can be so hard to swallow and on some occasions make the cream in my coffee curdle.

Keba is a nice person but boy, she made more mistakes on Fox 25. Everytime she came on, there were mistakes after mistakes. Good luck to her, but she needs to get out of public speaking and move on to something else.

I thought all three were great Q,Doug, and Keba. I used to tell my wife I felt sorry for poor Keba standing outside in the cold all the time. I always felt they were part of my family in the morning. It took me awhile to get used to Kim after Jody left but she does a great job as well. I hope they don’t reduce the staff any more.

I love watching the news in the morning. Gene, Kim, Cindy and VB do an excellent job. Sorry to see Doug and Keba go. We all have different job assignments in our own jobs. It is very easy to criticize others. Wait till you have to hear what your colleagues in your work place have to say about you once you leave. Get a life people – let’s come up with constructive critism and not destructive crticism. Encouragement is always a nice thing to boost a person’s self esteem. So let’s be positive to all who bring us our daily news. Good Luck to All of You.

Keba was such a good fit with the morning crew. Thoroughly enjoyed watching her & was hoping they’d give her more “inside” time. Erin just doesn’t cut it, looks & sounds just like one of what I call “plastic” people on the other networks. Bad enough Fox let Doug Meehan go, who’s next, Kim???? How about letting V.B. go instead?….

I agree with Katharine Bishop. Keba was pleasant and competent but she just didn’t fit the mould…..And what Chris says about Doug, “cartoonish”, “sophomoric”, sloppy…All true. But what I always loved about the Fox25 morning news is that the powers that be always seemed to give the crew a long leash to display their personalities and have fun. When I discovered Fox25 it was easy to leave behind the stiff productions of the morning news programs on channels 4, 5 and 7.

I was shocked to know Doug left Fox 25 and now Keba!! Seriously, the morning news has not been the same. I understand Keba going back home and you can’t bring her back, but please bring Doug back. It’s just not clicking for me anymore…: (

We are very disappointed to hear Keba is leaving. She was a classy lady espcially when she would fill in at the anchor desk! She will be missed. Good luck Keba!

My daughter Isabelle just loves Keba!! She asked me this morning to “google”Keba and see what happened to her. She is going to be so disppointed when she finds out this information-she had just thought she was on a long vacation.
She was so great at her job and we loved her smile and all her hats!!

Sorry to know that Keba is gone. I did not hear anything on the fox news about and did what Rita did — googled Keba. Thought she did a decent job reporting, and then filled in as anchor (that takes time to develop skills). Gotta say Erin Foxsworth could use a new hair style — not flattering on the air at least. Could Fox please spring for a new hair color for her – doesn’t come across well on camera. Good luck Erin; and wish Jim Armstrong would return too.

Keba has posted on her facebook page that she has accepted a co-anchor position at a station in Sacramento, CA and is about 5 hours from home.

yes, in another status she said she is going to be working for an abc affil not a fox anymore. that would mean if barlow is really headed to this station, he and keba will be working together

Personally I think Kim is the one who should go! She can’t even read a teleprompter without mispronouncing words, substituting the wrong words for the right words, and just stumbling over her words in general. Find someone who can at least read! And I LOVE VB – he tells it like it is, and I almost always agree with his opinions.

To me keba just did’nt fit in with with the rest of the morning team, It did’nt bother me to see her go. Besides!! I’d much rather look at that HOT Erin Hawksworth. She is much better than Keba.

i miss doug yeah he wasnt white shirt,etc but he was down to earth,and more like the common person.very likeable,and not stuffy. never left the room when dougie was on,he made the reporting fun. not the same anymore.

real happy to hear Keba moved on to a higher position in a better place for her I thought she was moving up the ladder and then she was gone had to google her.
Doug was a person guys like me love to hate , his job was so easy I envied him, his fathers say comments were hilarious V.B. if fired could work as a fascist lobbiest for the radical right
