I hate FOX news (too conservative while I’m liberal) However, I like Fox25. I think your right about Fox trying to be political. Thats why they put the ignorant republican (VB) on the morning show…

Fox has been instituting these 11pm newscasts on their other stations, too. They tend to not do well going head-to-head with the established network affiliates. For instance, WFXT’s 5pm news has been on for years yet still barely scores a rating.

That said, consider that (a) it’s not going to cost ch. 25 much more money to extend their 10pm news by a half hour, and (b) Fox is known to stick with newscasts that run in the red. According to Ken Auletta’s profile of Rupert Murdoch, Fox news is as much about having a political voice as it is to earn a profit.

Yeah… arn’t all the 11p shows losing audiances while the morning shows are gaining. Maybe they can spend the money on a replacement for VB, oh how annoying he has become

My prediction: This dies, either quickly or slowly. People, in my opinion, like the 10pm newscast because it is on, well, at 10pm. People either can’t or don’t want to wait up till 11pm to start watching news they can get an hour earlier. This is just another place to park the incessant drum-beat of car and furniture store commercials that TV newscasts are famous for (“Why are you now trying to sell me a Kia after trying to sell me a Volvo and a Hummer and a Saab and a Chrysler and a Honda and a Toyota before that?”). I swear, TV news operations are so myopic, so insular. They feel as though they somehow ‘know’ that people want this. How smart of them. Again, this new venture will (or should) DIE.
